A Bit of history

was started in September 2005 by Julia Dando and Alex Christaki.
We often get asked how the idea came about. We were taking
some photos for a venue to put on their website and went down on a busy
night to capture the crowds and the buzz of the dancefloor. As we
were there with our cameras taking pics we noticed that people were
reacting positively to the cameras being there. Jumping in front
and waving to be included in the frame. "...hmmmmmm...." we thought
"....I have an idea....". Within 3 days we had the website up and
running and ventured out for our first weekend on the tiles. We
started with a small number of venues on North Hill and The Barbican
but within 3 months we visited over 40 venues in Plymouth and secured a
new relationship with the Herald to feature a full page of photos every
week.
Since then we have taken over a million photos and
published 3000 photos in the Herald and Torbay's Herald Express.
We currently regularly visit over 60 venues in Plymouth and we are the most popular independant
website in the South West.*
You can view the photos in our online galleries and we even let you download them for FREE.....cos we're kinda groovy like that.
If
you require a high resolution digital copy or a print you can also
purchase these using the payment options displayed in the picture view
area. They are not expensive but they do help us keep this site
going.
